Consultations are a good teaser trailer for how I will show up in therapy. Consults last about 30 minutes (for couples or families, ~45 minutes), in which we have a conversation about why you are seeking out therapy. Consults are a low-pressure conversation that allows us to see if we’re a good fit for each other. Your autonomy is honored from the moment you reach out, and I aim to uphold it throughout the entirety of the time we spend together.

I am an advocate of you getting to do this work at a sustainable level that works within your budget. If I am unable to be that therapist for you, I am happy to provide you a list of referrals that work within your financial boundaries.

My fee is $250 per 50-minute individual session & $300 per couple/family session.

  • I do a consultation with any prospective client (ages 14+). Our consultation lasts anywhere between 15-30 minutes. We have a brief conversation about why you are seeking out therapy. Finding a therapist can be similar to trying on an outfit: you want something you feel good in. This initial conversation allows us both to see if we’re a good therapeutic fit for each other.

    Let's consult.

  • Therapy can be scary, exciting, fun, heart-breaking, heart-warming, energizing, exhausting. All of it! With therapy, there are risks and benefits. The risks of turning towards the challenging hard parts of life are that it can bring up complicated emotions and reveal unhelpful coping patterns. The benefits of taking a look at the uncomfortable truths are that you get to reflect on those rich complicated emotions, own what you need to own, and set the rules of engagement in your own life.

  • I accept most major credit cards at the time of the appointment. I do not bill insurance, however, I provide you with a superbill at the end of each month that you can submit to your insurance company. Before booking an appointment, I suggest calling the number on the back of your insurance card inquiring about your "out of network" therapy benefits and learning about how to submit an out-of-network reimbursement claim. Some clients also use their FSA or HSA accounts.

Lastly, some work places offer mental health benefits or wellness funds that can be used towards mental health services. If you feel comfortable, review your company policy to see if those funds are available to you.

  • Yes, I have a select few sliding scale slots reserved for folks who cannot afford full fee services. Currently, my sliding scale slots are full. I have a waitlist for those who would like to continue working with me, and can wait to be seen at the sliding scale fee.

  • Most of my clients and I meet for 50 minutes once a week. However, different cases call for different levels of support. When we meet, we discuss if extended sessions are appropriate or if increasing or reducing frequency is needed.

  • Yes! I am licensed to practice therapy in Washington, California, and Oregon. In order to receive therapy from me, you need to be located in one of these states.

MENTAYA

A workspace with a laptop computer, an open notebook with a pen, a white mug, a small vase with flowers, a glass jar with tea, and a desktop organizer, all on a wooden table near a window.

Additionally, I've partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits.

Mentaya is perfect if you:

  • Have out-of-network benefits

  • Feel overwhelmed by superbills and insurance

  • Have submitted superbills but failed to get any reimbursement

  • Simply want to skip the hassle of paperwork.

Here's how it works:

  1. Click this link to sign up for Mentaya

  2. Our practice will enter your sessions into the platform.

  3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up.

  4. You get reimbursed by insurance.

Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies. It's risk-free: They guarantee claims are successfully submitted, or a full refund of their fees.
